I was wondering why you have "nihon no iro" in katakana on the side when katakana is only used for loan words? Shouldn't it be in hiragana?

It's also in kanji/kana at the bottom of the preview pic.

Yeah, the fact that it can be written in Kanji means it shouldn't be in Katakana.
